The record spending on campaign advertising in the 2010 US midterm elections, especially the large number of ads funded by anonymous corporate donations, raises important questions about the correct the balance between the right of anonymous speech and the need to avoid the corrupting influence of large campaign expenditures from undisclosed sources, as I discuss in this video.

Even though the great new documentary «Waiting for Superman» blames a variety of sources for problems in America’s public schools, the consistent partisan spin at Fox News has been to describe it as a movie that «bashes teachers’ unions for bankrupting out nation’s schools» and «blames teachers’ unions for America’s failing eduction system,» even after the director of the documentary, Davis Guggenheim, specifically corrected that mischaracterization of his movie during a «Fox and Friends» interview by Fox News anchor Gretchen Carlson, as I show in this video.

When «Fox and Friends» covered the exclusion of a prosecution witness in the trial of Ahmed Khalfan Ghailani, accused in the 1998 U.S. Embassy bombings in East Africa, the Fox News reporter covering the story, Julie Kirtz, not only claimed the witness was excluded because Ghailani’s «lawyers say he was tortured» but she also failed to correct «Fox and Friends» anchor Brian Kilmeade’s claim that the witness was excluded because «we’re going to believe every terrorist,» even though the federal judge’s order excluding the witness was based on the admission of a career federal prosecutor hired by the Bush Administration that the court should «assume in deciding this motion that everything Ghailani said while in CIA custody was coerced,» as I show in this video.

When Fox News’ Megyn Kelly interviewed Carl Paladino, the Tea Party Republican candidate running for governor of NY who threatened to «take out» a reporter working for the NY Post, a paper owned by News Corp which also owns Fox News, I wasn’t sure where Fox News’ loyalties would lie, but the interview ended up being biased in favor of the Republican, as I show in this video.
